      Ever want to hide certain BB Codes from certain usergroups? Want to hide links from guests?

      This mod hides or removes the contents of the 8 major BB Codes from usergroups of your choice in both posts and private messages.

      BB Codes that can be hidden or removed are: CODE, EMAIL*, HTML, IMG*, PHP, QUOTE, URL* and VIDEO**.

      FEATURES
      • Control who can view each BB Code by usergroup.
      • Replace the viewed contents in a BB Code with a message of your choice.
      • Completely remove a BB Code from view.
      • Works in posts and private messages.
      • Removes meta tag content from page source.
      • Removes URLs from keyword content from page source.


      * The box around EMAIL, IMG, URL, and VIDEO tags does not appear in vBulletin versions earlier than 4.1.4. A text replacement is used.

    Hi again mate

    I cant find these in that section

    1) Make sure Hide IMG is set to 'Yes'.

    2) Make sure usergroup 1 (Unregistered / Not Logged In) is in the Blocked Usergroups for the IMG tag.

    3) Make sure BB Code Hider is turned on by setting 'Enable BB Code Hider' to 'Yes'

    Did you import the XML file in Admin Control Panel -> Plugins & Products -> Manage Products -> Add / Import Products?

    If you did, then the settings page should be there...

    Is there a way to exclude some forum ?? or hide codes in some forums only ? this is very important for my forum.

    Maybe in the next version?

    Yes and no. It depends on how far you want to go with usergroups.

    If you assign usergroups for each forum, it would be easy to exclude/include them from the hider.

    Other than that, there's no way to do it for now.

    An update that hides the items in the activity stream and in the threadbit preview with vB 4.2.0 was sent to all owners of this mod today.

    The only way I can duplicate that error is by both hiding URLs and including a URL in the URL message. And I warn against that in the readme file.

    Also, I get no server errors like you described that were associated with the timeout.

    EDIT: While working on a way to include a URL in the URL message when URLs are banned, I think I found what might be causing the timeout. Especially if you're blocking PHP code. I'll be releasing another update on Monday.
